Have you heard the old myth that eating cheese before you go to bed gives you nightmares? A study conducted in 2005 by the British Cheese Board attempted to debunk this claim by asking 200 participants to eat a piece of cheese before bed. The study found that actually eating cheese helps you go to sleep.

But be warned, eating different types of cheeses leads to different types of dreams. The pungent blue Stilton resulted in the most bizarre and unsettling dreams, including dreams of talking animals and warrior kittens, while mild Cheshire cheese resulted in the least memorable dreams, and cheddar cheese resulted in dreams of celebrities.

This week, we go “Under the Hood,” unearthing the secrets behind concealed ovulation, kosher food, cheesy dreams, pneumatic felines and negotiating. Our panelists are:

Seth Godin, author, marketer and action figure, who can change the world with a canoe, a paddle and a calm body of water.

Faith Salie, author of Approval Junkie and regular on CBS Sunday Morning and Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me…Something I Don’t Know, who has a very useless skill.

Nicholas Negroponte, co-founder of the MIT Media Lab, who would make a great spy… and maybe already has.

Our real-time fact-checker is Bourree Lam, writer for The Atlantic.com and editor emeritus of a certain blog.
